It's interesting to think back on the wave of DAO tooling startups in 2020-2022: Utopia Labs, Syndicate, Bonfire. If I recall, Rain started by issuing stablecoin-linked cards to help DAOs pay their AWS bills. ConstitutionDAO went mainstream, and PartyDAO let groups collectively buy CryptoPunks.
But at the time there was nothing autonomous about DAOs. They were collectives of people organizing in Discord.
Now that everyone has personal agents, I'm excited to see a new generation of DAOs as collectives of agents working toward common goals alongside human operators.
For that to happen, we need new tooling that helps humans and their agents coordinate and share resources, plus agent collectives with clear missions and governance.
