@DTPaymentNews - Federal court certifies class action suit from 3 small CUs against ApplePay's 15bps. Affinity Credit Union, Green State Credit Union, and Consumers Co-Op Credit Union have convinced a federal court to certify the Apple Pay antitrust case
In my view, this case holds no water; banks voluntarily provision their card bins in ApplePay and agree to terms. Apple has both invested substantially in ApplePay, and has made access to NFC available through entitlements for alternative wallets. This case originated in 2022, before the entitlements were available. Consumers have options in how to pay, banks have options in how to provision cards.
